THE MOST PRICELESS THING IN THE WORLD…
…is the Blood of Jesus!
Let me explain why.
From the very beginning of man’s history, the Bible says that Adam and Eve disobeyed God and sinned. They found themselves naked. God shed innocent blood to make them clothes from animal skins (Genesis 3:21). This is a picture of the ‘covering of righteousness’ that we receive when the Lord Jesus Christ died for us.
Again, God told Abraham to sacrifice his only son Isaac (Genesis 22). Just before Abraham plunged the knife into the heart of Isaac, an angel stopped him. Abraham then saw a ram caught in a thicket, and he sacrificed that ram instead. Isaac was set free, but an innocent animal’s blood was shed instead.
Again, God wanted deliverance for His people from 400 years of bondage in the land of Egypt. On the night of the Passover, God commanded each house to slay an innocent lamb and put the blood on their doorposts. This is what He said in Exodus 12:13, “When I see the blood, I will pass over you.” Pharaoh’s eldest was slain, as well as all Egypt’s, but the Israelites walked out free.
Again, in the tabernacle of Moses, and later in the temples of Solomon and Herod, thousands upon thousands of sheep, oxen, and turtle doves were killed, and their blood spilled as sacrifices for sin of the people at that time.
And finally, when the Lord Jesus Christ died upon the cross of Calvary, His death was the ultimate fulfillment of all the prophecy and promises in the Bible. Revelation 13:8, proclaims that He was slain before the foundation of the world.
Jesus came into this world to die; Jesus planned to die; Jesus lived to die; and Jesus was born to die as a sacrifice for our sins.

We see that blood is mentioned throughout Scripture. All this is a ‘foreshadowing’ of the shedding of His blood and His sacrifice on the cross for the remission of all the sins of mankind.
Why then is His Blood so costly and expensive?
Let me give you a few answers.

The Blood of Jesus has Power
His blood redeems us. There was a price against us that we could not pay because of our sin, but the blood of Jesus redeemed us. 1 Peter 1:18-19 says, “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things…. But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.”
The Blood of Jesus brings us into a partnership with and close to God.
According to Ephesians 2:13, “But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.” Without the blood of Christ, man is a long way from God.
The Blood of Jesus makes peace between us and God.
Man, by nature, is at war with God; and we can only come to God on His ‘peace’ terms — the blood atonement. The Bible says in Colossians 1:20, “And, having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself….”
The Blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin.
Not only does it remove the punishment of sin, but it also removes the contamination of sin. It does not matter what sin you’ve committed; “the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin (1 John 1:7).
The Blood of Jesus gives us power over the devil.
It’s the blood that Satan fears. Revelation 12:11 says, “And they overcame him [Satan] by the blood of the Lamb….” The devil doesn’t want you to learn about the blood. He hates it!
The blood of Jesus is the basis of the New Covenant.
On the night before He went to the cross, Jesus offered the cup of wine to His disciples and said, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you” (Luke 22:20).
The pouring of the wine in the cup symbolized the blood of Christ which would be poured out for all who would ever believe in Him. When He shed His blood on the cross, He did away with the Old Covenant requirement for the continual sacrifices of animals. Their blood was not sufficient to cover the sins of the people, except on a temporary basis, because sin against a holy and infinite God requires a holy and infinite sacrifice…the precious Blood of Jesus.
Only His blood can save you and give you Eternal Life. You can have that today.
So true!
Amen! So well explained Pastor loaded with the word! Thank you for this powerful reminder! I am so thankful to Jesus for the love sacrifice that He paid by His shed blood to set us free and acess eternal life !
