There is a tremendous need for leaders to show their life and lifestyle. This is so that you become a ‘model’ to those that follow you and are with you.
Today actual modelling has become a very paying and perfecting profession. Modelling schools have sprung up like mushrooms to teach, qualify and provide jobs for up and coming models, whether they be male or female.
Let’s learn from some day to day examples of modelling…
Models are chosen because of their height, stature etc. Leaders are chosen because they stand tall and just as models are noticed, so do leaders get noticed.
Models look after their bodies with exercise, the right kind of food and hard discipline. They are very conscious about their intake and are very fussy eaters! So are leaders. They must be very sharp on what they ‘consume’ by way of the world and what they read and what they watch, and what they study.
Models are taught to walk. For a leader ‘walking in the Spirit’ is such a necessary need. Many leaders fail because their walk is not their talk!
Lastly models ‘show off ‘what other designers have stitched as they display those clothes on the ramp. Good leaders are to display our Creator’s character. When the world notices us they must see the beauty of the Lord and His righteousness in all we do.
You see, real discipleship is real modelling. It is more than just talking. It is actually displaying the things of heaven here on earth. Showing the Life of Christ the Saviour in everything you do.
As you walk in the power of His Spirit, people will get close to you and draw from all you have.
Three things I’d like to share with you as you model…
- One. Get rid of hindrances in your life. Hebrews 12:1, Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.
- Two. Present your body to God at all times. Romans 12:1, 2, I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
- Three. Learn to practice His Presence by praying in the Spirit. Romans 8:26, Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
So go ahead and change your daily life and habits. Your small group would love to have you as their leader.
Next time then.
