THE COMING CELESTIAL SPECTACLE OF JULY 27, 2018! (PART 1)

At the onset I would like to make some things very clear.

I am an avid student of the stars and the heavens. More than 29 years ago, God began to stir my heart to ‘look up’ and study the stars, the planets, the constellations and their decans. I made my own telescope at that time and I did a pretty good job of it! Without any internet, by the help of star maps I charted a lot of data myself. God was speaking to me.

Then I met an amazing man.

My friend Dale Sides, whom most of you all know is one of the most remarkable men I have had the privilege to meet. He is the best teacher I know of and he has so much of research on the stars it boggles the mind! Our hearts are knit together. He is also like a father to me.

(Dale has computer program that has even astounded NASA. If you want to know what the heavens declare (Genesis 1:13), go to https://lmci.org. When Jesus was born the heavens declared it with incredible accuracy. This is how the Magi knew a King was born and were led to Bethlehem by a star!)

All that I am saying here is not astrology but is the Christological study of the message in heavens. Astrology is dependent on archaic tables and movements of constellations and planets. Astrology is forbidden in the Bible. Astrology has come down from the Sumerians, to the Babylonians, to the Mesopotamians, the Egyptians and such. Even in China and India you can find old charts and materials on astrology. Astrology teaches that the stars and their movements control human destiny, marriage, birth and death, and even the future.

This is not what the Bible teaches. Deuteronomy 18:9-14. The Heavens contain the Celestial Word. This is the same Word Abraham was asked to read!

Genesis 15:5, ‘And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.’

The word for ‘tell’ in Hebrew is ‘sapar’ (Strong’s h5608.). This text really refers to Abraham’s seed. But there is much more than that. The word ‘sapar’ does mean to count, but the etymology is much richer. It means to ‘recount’ or to ‘narrate’, ‘to take account of’ or ‘to interpret’ or ‘to explain’. Now the Hebrew word for book is ‘sepher’ and for a Scribe is ‘sopher’.

When the Psalmist in Psalm 19 says, ‘The heavens declare the glory of God..’, the stars transcribe a story. The stars form a handwriting on the surface of the sky for us to read!

Stars form the handwriting on the surface of the sky. Look at the Book of Job. From the earliest times man knew what the skies read. Psalm 19:2, ‘Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.’

Again, Psalm 19, begins with…The heavens declare the glory of God. Who is the glory of God? Christ of course! The heavens declare Jesus!

The stars do not control us. God does! And that too as we submit to Him because He first loved us and gave His Son to die on the cross for our sin. Jesus rose again on the third day and is coming back in power and great glory. Just before His coming, many signs will take place in the heavens.

This July 2018 eclipse is one of them.

Before writing this article, I have consulted Dale on what God has been saying to me.

The Blood Moon

Elizabeth Howell, a Space.com Contributor said, “The total phase of the ‘blood moon’ eclipse of July 27 will last 1 hour and 43 minutes, during which Earth’s natural satellite will turn a spectacular red or ruddy-brown colour. From start to finish, the entire celestial event will last nearly 4 hours.”

That is 103 minutes!

My personal take

If this is the longest eclipse, then God really wants the world to stop and notice. If we have ‘eyes to see’ we will be able to see, otherwise this will be just another happening.

My thoughts immediately have gone out to Psalm 103:7, “He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.” This is because I quote this so often in my preaching.

The word ‘ways’ here means His laws. His laws are called His ways. His methods of running the Kingdom. These are Divine Principles on which He governs man and this earth. Our God is a God of conditions and codes. He does not break or violate His Promises or His judgements.

The word ‘acts’ are His amazing, merciful and gracious providence. This proves how Israel went through the wilderness for 40 years, with daily provisions for water and food, for the millions that walked through. Truly His ways are past finding out. Romans 11:33.

There are two things I would say at the onset.

Moses walked in closer fellowship with God than any other man at that time, where God spoke to him face to face. And Israel actually distanced themselves from God.

So firstly, there are the ‘Moses’ kind of Christians, who desire God with all their hearts and are untouched by the ‘world’ system. To these God reveals His ways. These are people who live their lives knowing that God’s Kingdom is heaven born but at the same time it is earthbound. God’s Kingdom is not of this world, for sure but it is for this world! These are the world-changers of today.

Secondly, there are those who have distanced themselves. They say, ‘Jesus is Lord’, but have many issues with their daily lifestyle. They have gone cold! Jesus is Lord for them only for Sundays! On other days and in many ways, they have other Lords!

This celestial sign is a sign of separation. Imagine…this is within the Church of today.

So, what is this?

What are we looking at when we witness this eclipse? Is there a clear message? Or is it shrouded so we cannot understand and thus cannot consider? What is it that the God of Heaven is saying?

Lots of questions…? But hey! Let me make it simple for you.

The events taking place are very significant. As a student of the Heavens I am encouraged and challenged at the same time. Go is so very clear if we can see and listen. God created the lights in Heaven for signs and seasons, days and years! I have talked about this in another study.

Genesis 1:14, And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

God placed signals and timings for us to see. When we see them we know what Heaven is saying.

Three movements in the Heavens are all taking place in the same time…all this perfectly timed and done by God’s mighty hand.

1. First of all, there is the Lunar Eclipse, which everyone in particular geographical positions can see plainly. No doubt about that.
2. Then there is a peculiar behaviour in the planet Mars.
3. There is also a third happening that not all can witness, unless we have some kind of software or a good telescope…all the planets have now positioned themselves on one side of the Sun.

Now, when all these three are put together they form what I call…‘Watch and Wait’. An angel appeared in my dream over two months ago and said this to me for the season that was coming on the Church. We are to watch and wait on the Lord for His wisdom and timings. And this season is one of the key seasons for the future. It is the value of our attitudes towards what God is doing on the earth as it is reflected by heaven.
