Manifest His Works

Someone asked me last week…“How can we see God work His works in our lives?”

I thought for a moment before replying. And then we had a befitting conversation that ended up in a great ministry time.

So I though I’d just write it down for you plain and simple.

The first step is to desire for the things of God.

Psalm 37:4,5

Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, and He will do it.

This whole Psalm deals with those who are pursuing God’s righteousness. This Psalm also challenges you to be honest and walk in integrity in all things, especially with yourself.

But many interpret this part of the Psalm out of context, because they think…that if they just delight in the Lord, then He will give them what they want. This is not really so!

The correct interpretation would be that if we take a whole-hearted satisfaction in Jesus, He will pattern and profile our hearts so that we have the right desires to fit His will and purposes for us.

Therefore, as we commit our path to Him, then He will be faithful to establish our ways. It is definitely one thing to get what you desire from God, but I believe it is another thing to be continuously transformed by Him..!

And in Phil 2:13, Paul writes emphatically…

For it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.

The second step is diligent prayer.

James 5:16b

The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

Prayer changes things drastically. Prayer puts you in the right perspective and prayer releases the answers from heaven whatever they are.

When we get into having our desires right, then prayer releases the responses of God.

The third step I have personally noted in my life is passion.

Passion is a relentless fire that continues to rage in our hearts. This fire is fuelled by the Promises of the Word and the right fellowship with one another.

And finally faith is then birthed deep within your soul.

Faith comes by hearing. Faith comes by constantly keeping in line with the constraints of God’s Word. Faith does not waver…in spite of the changing winds and swirling waters, faith anchors on His Promises. And waits!

The result of this is the works of God being manifest in your midst!
