THE MOUNTAIN

 

Nahum 1:5

The mountains quake before him and the hills melt away. The earth trembles at his presence, the world and all who live in it.

We are in Sikkim.

This morning we woke up to such a majestic and glorious sight.

The Kanchenjunga revealed herself in all her beauty!

I was fascinated and captivated by this view. I just stood there transfixed by this magnificent panorama and I was so awed in my spirit.

Phew!

My heart rose up in a song of worship to the loving Creator as I raised both my hands to praise Him.

I am a ‘sea-level dweller’. So used to the sounds of the sea and the rushing warmth of air that comes now and then. But this sight today has transfixed me to see Him in a new way altogether.

Listen, mountains can do something to you. No wonder the people of Sikkim worship this mountain. But if they lift their eyes higher they can see the Creator and His beauty.

And no matter how huge and gigantic this mountain maybe, a time is coming when all this will melt away, and all those who live on this earth will tremble before Him, according to the prophet Nahum.

As I see this today, the Lord tells me…“Get ready, everything that can be shaken will be shaken, only that which is founded upon Me will stand.”

Perhaps this is a sign and a message to the Church in India. Get ready! Get on a sure foundation! Stand on the Word of God and His Promises. A time of shaking comes.
