Moving Mountains Everyday
Have you ever had a time in your life, when you said…“I don’t think I can get by this challenge now…this is far too big for me?” Have you ever? I am sure you must have said something like that at least once in your lifetime.
Well I have, and that too several times! But in each moment God saw me through miraculously. Even when the odds were impossible, God came on the scene and manifested His Glory.
Everyone has faith! Everyone puts his or her trust in something. Maybe their money, or their career, or their doctor, or even the words of a false prophet! And sometimes, things may just seem logical to us, so it must be true! But unfortunately this kind of ‘faith’ is a faith without a foundation, and this will eventually disappoint us. So then what is faith really?
Heb 11:1, says…Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
This marvelous passage shows us the depth and the body of the faith of our Fathers. They were seeking a country, walking in victory, and went through sufferings that ended in faith. They are glorious examples of the purity and power of simple faith. ‘Now faith is the substance of things hoped for’…the meaning of “substance”, is “hupostasis”, the Greek word here is “stand under”, that is, to be a foundation. Therefore, faith is the foundation on which all our hopes for the future are built. ‘The evidence of things not seen’…rather, the conviction or persuasion of things not seen in the realm of the physical. Without faith we would be limited to the very narrow world comprehended just by our senses.
Radical faith is a kind of faith that does not falter. Radical faith is founded on God’s Promises. Radical faith is the orchestrations of God on the affairs of men that make the impossible possible!
The Bible is full of this kind of faith. When ordinary people operated in this kind of faith they became extra-ordinary. But the good news is that this kind of radical faith is not limited just to the times of the Bible. You and I can operate in it just now and see amazing results come forth.
But Christianity is not mere blind faith. Blind faith is faith without evidence, which would be superstition. The Bible does not call us to blind faith. The Bible calls us to faith in evidence, faith that is based and works on the bedrock of Truth. Let me say this…all human beings have imperfect knowledge and there is a realm that is outside our understanding and experience. If we base our perceptions on assumptions or presuppositions…we will eventually become prisoners of skepticism and rational thinking that puts the need of God outside the human experience. Believing something without a shred of evidence is illogical!
So in short, what then is radical faith? A fine example is found in Mark 2:1-12. It is here that Jesus heals a man with an incapacitating disease that has him totally bed-ridden. The man’s friends took the roof of the house apart and let him down in the midst of where Jesus was sitting. Listen to what the Bible says…When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee. Please hear…Jesus saw their faith! Faith can be seen!
The actions of these people proved to Jesus and others around, that they would not stop at anything for their friend to be healed by Jesus. Obstacles were overcome. A daring deed was done. All because the man believed that Jesus had the ability to heal his incapacitated body. His faith in Jesus brought him instant healing!
Well, how far are you willing to go? How much of God’s Promises are you willing to take a hold of despite the obstacles you face? Radical faith comes into being when it lays hold of not only the Promises of God but goes ahead to take a hold of the God of the Promises!
Always remember that when something is radical, it is firmly rooted in something that is real, tangible and solid. Radical faith is therefore rooted in the fundamentals of obedience to God’s Holy Word. That is why without faith it is impossible to please Him!
Beloved, God has never intended that we live in the mediocre, or below His best. It is God’s desire that we prosper in all ways, in every faculty of our lives, and bring forth fruit that remains for eternity. We have all we need to operate in the highest level of His power and His blessings so that we can bring His Kingdom from heaven to earth!
If your faith is not radical, check your life, your obedience and your passion for His Word and Presence. If some areas are out of alignment of the things of God, then this is the best time to bring it in line.
So have you made His Word the final authority in your life? Have you decided, once and for all, that you will operate in radical faith?
God has provided all you will ever need. You can move any mountain. It’s finally left up to you!
Shalom
Pastor Willie.
AMEN!!! God has never intended that we live in the mediocre, or below His best.
Moving the mountain …its in our hands , He has equipped us to do so !!
Moving mountains with faith small as a mustard seed … Glorious! Only God can astound and challenge us to walk new heights with him in this world to make our time here of eternal value. Thanks Willie for your example of radical faith and your challenge to us to imitate you even as Paul did.
